Celts came, conquered Ocean City with music and humor at Music Pier
Ocean City Sentinel - by Ed Wismer
June 2004

In the past a certain day in early spring everyone, regardless of ethnic ancestry, would become a Celt for a day. Now the phenomenon occurs all year-round and not just in Boston or New York.

As Jimmie Durante liked to say, "Everybody wants to get into the act." Philadelphians who spent the weekend in Ocean City and thus lost the chance to enjoy the Gaelic festivities at Penn's Landing had an equally wild Gaelic evening at the Music Pier. These days Ocean City never misses any opportunity to put on a crowd-pleasing entertainment. They did just that Saturday evening at the Music Pier for an auditorium filled with happy people...

The stage was literally taken over by Searson, a Scottish-Irish quintet from Ontario, Canada. It seems that good Celts wind up in our northern neighbor. The rest go to Australia...They're very good and entertaining. Searson consisted of both males and females. All played a number of instruments and the girls were darn good step-dancers. For good measure, they sing, too. With perfect weather, great entertainment and genuine conviviality the audience departed well satisfied.
